Is Sense8 dead for good?

Netflix has released a statement on the official Sense8 Tumblr today stating that they have apparently made their mind up regarding the cancellation. After two seasons and an Holiday special, is the show definitely over?

Netflix has released a statement regarding the state of Sense8. Apparently, they do read the 700+ e-mails that you sent! Here is a transcript of the original Netflix letter:

To our Sense8 family…

We’ve seen the petitions.

We’ve read the messages.

We know you want to #RenewSense8,
and we wish we could #BringBackSense8 for you.

The reason we’ve taken so long to get back to you is because we’ve thought long and hard here at Netflix to try to make it work but unfortunately we can’t.

Thank you for watching and hope you’ll stay close with your cluster around the world.

Brian J. Smith, who plays Chicago police officer Will Gorski in the show, has also released a statement on TwitLonger.

Guys, there are no secrets here. I’ve been given the same reason for the cancelation that you have: viewership.

Personally… I don’t know what to think anymore. Netflix is a for profit company, and like Brian said in his statement, it’s doubtful that there is an other reason to the cancellation besides the obvious “Money/Viewership” issues. Of course I know the Sense8 community is going to continue hoping, and I hope Netflix will provide us with one last special to conclude the Cluster’s story.

They deserve it, Netflix!

In the meantime, take the fight to Netflix. Continue checking our website regularly for updates, and join our Discord Server to be updated in real-time of actions happening, and of course to talk with the rest of the ‘global cluster’.

Because we know you need to cheer up:

Also canceled my Netflix account over this.

Perhaps it changes their minds, perhaps it doesn’t, but it gives me the feeling of having done something about this unfair situation. Also did all the other steps contacting them, signing the petition, etc..

I have been around for so many years , and have seen so many changes in attitudes that it amazes me. I am not gay, but to me everyone has a right to be whomever they wish to be. Sense8 showed the world that we are really not that different, and together we can fight to make this a better world. Together, we are humanity.

All I can do is say walkouts can work I am sick of company’s advertising a product making us want it and then dropping it when it suits them we pay for this we should have a say . So I had mine ,cancelled Netflix and will now find there stuff on line free . not enough people will do this to make them remember they are a company that provides a service and if it isn’t what we want we can go elsewhere . I have a prime account but I only. Use it when the programme I like has been released .then off it goes till next season this is how we show Netflix just pay the subscription when your shows are on they think because people pay all the time they own us .well not me be

Gosh Sense8 is definitely NOT OVER UNTIL WE SAY SO! It is up to us to continue fighting and I will continue FOREVER if it takes this long. Sense8 changed my life, I owe it this much.
    a) Their stocks are down because of us cancelling
    b) Our fighting made them release a statement in only A WEEK! In just a week we made Netflix react! Imagine if we keep up! It is a huge corporation, it will take a lot to get it to comply so we must keep going!
    c) They were even forced to develop an internal protocol for answering livechat calls, I get the same copy-paste official response lately 😉
    d) Bringing a show back is really not such a big deal. Netflix has brought back shows like Fuller House and Gilmore Girls in the past.. NBC brought back Timeless after fans’ requests.
    e) VIEWERSHIP… don’t make me laugh.. THERE ARE SO MANY ALTERNATIVES before cancelling a show and Netflix definitely didn’t explore them. They kept more expensive shows going, like the Crown.. They cancelled The Get Down, so they saved money they could use on Sense8. They chose to promote OITNB for pride.. They never spoke with directors to make it cheaper, they never gave fans the chance to fight for it.. So SPARE ME Netflix, this is YOUR choice.
